DJ or Live Band for your Wedding?
It’s probably no question at all...you want a packed dancefloor all night long. So how do you determine if you want a DJ or a live band? Both are professional services and will keep that party alive for your guests. But you want to make sure you’re hiring the right one for YOU. I know it’s probably cheaper to have your friend play your playlist on spotify...but the price is definitely worth investing into. These professionals know how to read a room and make everyone have a memorable night!
So now the question...the price. Every DJ/Live Band is unique and depending on your area, the cost for them may be different.
Wedding DJ’s
If you want a variety of sounds and musical artists, then a DJ is the right choice for you. Based nationwide, the majority of couples spent on average $1,200 for DJ services. Of course, that price may vary, depending on what the DJ offers, the hours included in their package, additional lighting/special effects, etc. They are more affordable than live bands as they only require 1 or 2 people. With a wedding DJ, you can rock out to your favorite 90’s throwbacks, dance to the latest pop hits, and slow dance with your partner.
Live Bands
Live bands, on the other hand, provide a different type of experience. Research for live wedding bands in your area to see what they are like. While they are more expensive than a DJ (average $3,500) that cost will vary on how many band members are there, the number of hours they are booked for, and the equipment they need to bring. One key pro of hiring a live band is that you and your guests will have live music all night long. These bands are well versed in various genres and can change the tempo at any point to light up the room or make it more romantic.
